2011 Annual Meeting

Nearly fifty funders gathered for the 2011 Annual Meeting in Santa Fe, October 12 to 15. It was a wonderful conference, emphasizing peer-to-peer learning, strategy discussions, and participant engagement.

Rosé Cohen delivered a powerful poem, Sitting Pretty in Atomic City, which commemorates the work of artist Tony Price, at the reception for funders during the 2011  PSFG Annual Meeting. 2011 Annual Meeting Highlights

Meeting highlight included:    

**Former Governor and UN Ambassador Bill Richardson shared his insights about his Track II diplomacy work and the politics of international security policymaking in discussion with Amb. Nancy Soderberg, President of the Connect US Fund after our opening dinner.    

**The conference concludes with a screening and discussion of "Peace Unveiled" with Abigail Disney, producer of the "Women, War and Peace" series premiering on PBS on Tuesdays, October 11-November 8.

**Some of the largest funders in the field of Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation will spoke about their work - particularly work related to gender - in a session facilitated by the "grandfather of the field" John Paul Lederach

**
Funders grappled with tough, practical issues including evaluation and measurement, appreciating the role of social media, growing the field, and funding advocacy.

**Funders engaged in strategy and working sessions in key areas of the field.

**Funders visited the Sandia National Laboratory, with briefings from officials and a tour of the lab's weapons, counter-terrorism, and energy work.


2009 Annual Meeting

The 2009 Annual Meeting of the Peace and Security Funders Group was held October 13 to 15 in Washington, D.C.

Program highlights included:

➢    Pre-conference visit to The Pentagon, Oct. 13, for briefings from Defense Department officials and a look around.
➢    Welcoming dinner on Tuesday evening. 
➢    Panel presentations, strategy discussions and more on the burning issues confronting peace and security funders today. 
➢    Opportunities to network and develop effective strategies with colleagues.
➢    Plenary and mealtime speeches from inspirational activists and senior policy makers.
➢    Reception for conference attendees and NGO leaders on Wed, Oct. 14 at the Mott House.
➢    Luncheon on Thurs, Oct. 15 with Ploughshares Fund President Joe Cirincione.

2008 Annual Meeting

Following the conclusion of the "Advancing Peace and Security in 2009 and Beyond" conference in Madrid, we convened the 2008 Annual Meeting of PSFG for a brief session. The meeting was reconvened during the Federal Policy Briefing in Washington, DC, March 18 - 19, 2009. The minutes from both sessions of the 2008 Annual Meeting are posted in the Members Only section.

2007 Annual Meeting
